The 16th Annual Rivers of Chocolate Festival Will Again Be A Sweet Event For An Even Sweeter Cause

04|10|2012

It’s that time of year again: spring is here, love is in the air, the sun is shining bright, and the chocolate will be flowing like a river of goodness at this year’s Rivers of Chocolate festival.

In its sixteenth year, the Rivers of Chocolate festival, benefitting EHC LifeBuilders, is well under way. Held at the exquisite Mountain Winery in the Saratoga Hills, this year’s festival will once again feature premier wine from local vintners, decadent chocolate confections from chocolatiers, desserts from top pastry shops around the Bay Area, and sumptuous hors d’oeuvres from local restaurants and vendors.

And while patrons will be enjoying all the savory goodness top Silicon Valley food aficionados have to offer, the sweetest part of this event is that the proceeds benefit EHC LifeBuilders, an organization that provides shelter and career services for homeless families, adults, and children living in Santa Clara County.

Take it from me, attending the Rivers of Chocolate festival is a perfect way to start the spring season on a charitable note, as it will surely bring the sweetness out of everyone in attendance—and all for a worthy organization. So ladies, find your best sundress, and fellas, dust off your cargo shorts, and get your tastebuds ready to take a journey like no other. It’s time to have some fun under the California sun while tasting all the delicacies that the Bay Area has to offer.

Cocoa mass was used originally in Mesoamerica both as a beverage and as an ingredient in foods. Chocolate played a special role in both Maya and Aztec royal and religious events.
