Santana Row held it’s first “Tech & Tastings” event on September 4, 2014. The event, which benefitted the Tech Museum of Innovation, combined all that is Silicon Valley in one tech-fabulous evening: tech, wine, and fashion.
Guests of the event, with signature Santana Row wine glass in had, strolled the row, visiting participating shops that offered special discounts, and wine and food tastings from a variety of local wineries and Santana Row restaurants such as Pasta Pomodoro, The Veggie Grill, and Left Bank Brasserie. While sipping on their wine, guests could also play with the latest tech innovations that will be on exhibit at the Tech Museum at the end of September.
The cool gadgets and gizmos included: a 3D printer (displayed at Orvis) that creates real plastic creations from inputting digital data into a computer; a “Mini Masher” (displayed at Gallery 85), which is a multiplayer electronic instrument that allows the user to create his or her own beats; a “Hacker vs. Hacker” challenge, which prompted guests to try and break into a safe, pick a lock, and crack a digital code (displayed at Park Valencia); and a demonstration of wearable data-gathering devices that log and analyze a user’s mood, muscle tension, pulse, and brainwaves (displayed at lululemon).
A perfect event for Silicon Valley techies and connoisseurs of wine and fashion, “Tech & Tastings” was one event that surely appeased the tech nerd in all of us.
