Santana Row’s Second Annual Santana Stroll: Wine, Food and Good Friends

Santana Row held its second annual Santana Stroll on Wednesday October 12, 2011. This year, proceeds from the event benefitted Silicon Valley Education Foundation, a foundation that helps raise student performance in the subjects of math and science across 32 Santa Clara County school districts.

Like last year’s stroll, guests received a signature Santana Row wine glass upon registering for the event. With wine glass in hand, guests then made their way over to Levare, Santana Row’s premiere living destination, where they were treated to a wine tasting from Treasury Wine Estates and appetizers from Thea Mediterranean. While at Levare, guests were also welcome to tour the new upscale homes currently for lease on the Row.

Upon experiencing what it would be like to live at the oh, so posh life on the Row, guests made their way to the Levare outdoor courtyard where they enjoyed music provided by a pair of hip DJs, and more helpings of wine and appetizers.

Special shopping discounts from participating Santana Row stores were also included with every ticket purchase to the event, along with wine tastings and light appetizers from participating restaurants.

With the Santana Stroll passport in hand, guests could go from store-to-store where they received exclusive shopping deals, and went restaurant-hopping, sampling some delicious appetizers from participating Santana Row restaurants such as LB Steak, Pizza Antica, Roux Louisiana Kitchen, and Citrus at Hotel Valencia.

Personally, this year it was difficult for me to choose my favorite appetizers, as each restaurant served some sumptuous and tasty treats. But if I had to choose, I would say that my two favorite appetizers were the truffled cheese sandwiches paired with rosé wine at Pizza Antica and the citrus braised pork sliders and chicken koobideh from Citrus at Hotel Valencia. My favorite cocktail was the hurricane served at Roux Louisiana Kitchen.

As in typical Santana Row fashion—pun intended–this year’s event proved to be another success. So if you haven’t experienced Santana Stroll, make sure to mark your calendar for next year’s event. It’s the perfect outing for those who enjoy good food, great wine, awesome friends, and an evening stroll unlike any other.
