Santana Row’s 5th Annual Summer Fashion Show and Poolside Soiree helps Kick-Off the Summer Season

Santana Row held its 5th Annual Summer Fashion Show and Poolside Soiree this past weekend, June 1, 2013. The soiree was held at Santana Heights, the Row’s premiere residence.

Although the weather was hot, the fashions were hotter. As guests made their way into the venue, they were welcomed by various vendors who had their items on display.

The curator for “Gallery 85”, 49er Vernon Davis’ new art gallery, was near the entryway displaying some of Vernon’s art work. His gallery, also a new addition to the Row, officially opened to the public on December 10, 2012.

At this year’s show, not only was Vernon the special guest and guest model for Franco Uomo, but a portion of the proceeds from ticket sales went towards Davis’ Vernon Davis Foundation for the Arts.

Before guests made their way to their seats, they were treated to sumptuous hors d’ oeuvres from a new restaurant on the Row, Lark Creek Blue, and some tasty faire from The Left Bank.

Guests also sipped wine provided by various Bay Area vintners, and were treated to complimentary make-up and hair touch-ups by Santana Row make-up artists and hair dressers.

This year’s show featured 23 well-known designers. Some of the bigger names in fashion included the ever-present Anne Fontaine, Donald J. Pliner, and Eli Thomas for Men, along with newcomers to the Row, Calypso St. Barth, Loft, Orvis, and Splendid.

It was clear that the trends for this summer are: bold colors, contrasting colors, and patterned fabrics…

…airy fabrics, ruffles, taffeta-lined dresses, sheer material…

…along with big purses and belts.

One of the best moments in the show was when the male-models strutted their ready-for-summer bodies on the catwalk. They made the ladies in the audience swoon and cheer as they passed them by, revealing their toned-and-chiseled biceps and six-pack abs.

The men also entertained the audience when they did the new signature dance from Psy’s new hit, “Gentleman.”

Vernon Davis closed out the show as he danced with the other models on the platform over the grand swimming pool, sporting a chic suit from Franco Uomo.

After the show, guests were welcomed to one of Santana Heights’ lofts, where they had an opportunity to tour the residence and experience what it would be like living at Silicon Valley’s fashion Mecca and upscale residence.

Along with the post-show after-parties and special shopping opportunities, guests were also invited to the beauty lounge, which included a menu of complimentary services for the day. Some of the participating stores and salons such as 100% Pure, Drybar, Atelier Salon & Spa, and InSpa, offered free makeup and hair touch-ups, eye-lash applications, and hand massages.

So if you want to beat the heat but still look hot this summer, then make your way over to Silicon Valley’s exclusive shopping destination. Your closet will thank you.
