Santana Row Fall Fashion Show in the Park 2012

09|13|2012

As sure as the fall leaves turn into hues of vibrant orange, cinnamon brown, and maple gold—indicating the transition from the summer to the fall season—so too is the ever-changing season of fashion. And to bring in this fall season’s fashion must-haves, Santana Row held its annual fall fashion show, with proceeds the benefitting the Junior League of San Jose.

Before the show, guests had the opportunity to peruse the various kiosks from participating Santana Row shops.

Guests also had the chance to mix-and-mingle with new and old friends, enjoyed tasty hors d’oeuvres from Straights and Sino, and bubbly champagne and wine from Vintage Wine Bar.

Guests experienced the VIP treatment as they had their photos taken in front of the Santana Row logo backdrop. At Santana Row, anyone can get a taste of the celebrity highlife.

Special guest celebrities at this year’s fall fashion show included visionary designer Donald J. Pliner with his wife Lisa Pliner—whose retail store is a staple on the Row—and season ten winner of America’s Next Top Model, Whitney Thompson.

Donald and his wife Lisa were welcomed onto the catwalk to take a stroll down the pristine white runway. Everyone in the audience graciously applauded this fashion icon as he humbly waved in return.

Whitney was also welcomed onto the stage to help get the crowd excited about the fall fashion lineup. She offered some tips on how to prepare for the perfect model pose and also how to strut one’s stuff while on the runway or on the sidewalk. She even invited some attendees of the show onto the stage for a model-walk contest. The winner won a jewelry piece from her fashion collection Super Model, and also experienced what it’s like to strut her stuff like a model as adoring fans clap in admiration.

Finally it was time for the show. As the models made their way down the runway, guests in the audience, and some onlookers from the sidelines, got a glimpse of this season’s must-have fashions. Some of the fashions included designs from the ever-present Anne Fontaine, Donald J. Pliner, Penelope Boutique, and Franco Uomo, along with some new-comers like Orvis, Clary Sage Organics, and Icebreaker Touchlab.

After the show, guests were welcomed to visit Ted BakerCole HaanAnne FontaineDonald J. Pliner, and Furla for some exclusive post-show after-parties. There, guests received some special offers and discounts, along with some bubbly and appetizers while watching some live entertainment. Whitney Thompson also stopped by Ted Baker for a photo-op with guests of the show.

Like in years past, Santana Row was and is the place to start the fall season on a fashionable note. Yet the fall fashion show is not the only time that patrons can see the styles of the season, as Santana Row is the place to visit year-round for the latest looks.
