In 2009, Helium Magazine pioneered a vertical media strategy incorporating online content into printed publications at events. From 2009’s Atomic Fashion Show to the largest fashion show on the West Coast and San Francisco Chic Fashion Week, over 10,000 people have made these events a huge success.
2009: The Atomic Fashion Show
After featuring Silicon Valley’s leading fashion designers in original photo editorials and interviews online (then sjHelium.com), Helium Magazine brought the stories to life at the Atomic Fashion Show where the pages of the Atomic Fashion Show Zine played out on the runway.
2010: Charity Fashion Show | The Largest Fashion Show On The West Coast
Helium Magazine launched its inaugural publication, the Elemental Issue, at the largest fashion show on the West Coast on May 15th 0f 2010. Partnering with the Charity Fashion Show Team, Helium’s media came to life at the event when marketing images were displayed as 12-foot-tall billboards before the massive tent and an 6-page editorial on Swati Couture came to life on the runway.
2010: The Revival Fashion Show
Helium Magazine partnered with West Valley College to produce the Revival Fashion Show on June 11th of 2012. Helium produced a digital and print marketing campaign that came to life at the event in a 12-foot-tall billboard and in the Revival Fashion Show Zine.
2010: The Blue Launch Event
As the kick-off night to San Francisco Chic Fashion Week, Helium celebrated our expansion to San Francisco with the Blue Launch Event. Featuring Bacca da Silva, the Bacca Nation photo editorial that would be entered into the online edition of the Elemental Issue was projected live with a video above models wearing the clothes in film. The event was nominated for Best Fashion Show of the Year at the San Francisco Fashion Awards.
2010: San Francisco Chic Fashion Week
San Francisco Chic Fashion Week was an 8-day event and the largest fashion week produced in the Bay Area in 5 years. Helium produced a marketing campaign and event guide distributed throughout the week. The event won Best Fashion Show of the Year at the San Francisco Fashion Awards.
2010: Generations of Change
Helium Magazine partnered with the Goodwill of Silicon Valley to produce the Generations of Change Fashion Show showcasing a vintage museum collection of clothes and select looks from Bay Area eco-fashion designers. Helium Magazine produced a marketing campaign, event guide and on-site billboards.
2011: The Collection Fashion Show
In partnership with the San Francisco Bay Area Fashion Network, Helium Magazine produced the marketing materials and event guide for The Collection Fashion Show featuring designers Daniel Sudar, Joseph Domingo and Hector Manuel of Acta Non Verba. Pre-show coverage and the program guide from the event came together to produce The Collection Issue both as a master publication on the historic event.
2012: Project Runway Season 10 Fan Favorite
In partnership with the Bay Area Fashion Media Alliance, Helium Magazine orchestrated a twitter campaign for San Francisco designer Elena Slivnyak of iiMUAHii for the Project Runway Season 10 Fan Favorite competition. Using image marketing, social media groups and scheduled shifts for volunteers, the campaign generated over 150,000 tweets for #TeamElena winning her the Fan Favorite title and a $10,000 cash prize.
