Anecdote to Accessories

“Fashion fades, only style remains the same” is a famous quote by Coco Chanel, a renowned French fashion designer.  Style can be timeless and hold it’s own to any current trend that’s out there.  I love to play up my style with accessories but it has taken me  a while to be able to accessorize with ease.  Here’s my anecdote when it comes to accessorizing:

I frequently start every day with looking at my main colors of my outfits and work outwards for my accessories.

I make sure to look for vibrancy in my pieces  …

Then set the tone for my palette, by choosing what shoes I am going to wear…

I always wear pieces that accentuate my face and body type. Take these dangles for example. They elongate and add angle to my round face…

I sometimes use a sequin belt to jazz up my solid ensembles.  I’m also not afraid to defy the rules by wearing belts as accessories over cute blouses or tanks.

Lastly, I always make sure I grab my one statement piece that stands out…

Two morals of my story:  #1 Less is more.  You want people to notice you not your accessories.

#2 Don’t be afraid to try new things.  You may be a little trendsetter and just not know it.
